Contest for Primavera by Mary Jane Beaufrand

Oh, goody! B.L.T.'s first book give-away contest! From the day I started this blog I wanted to get a book to give-away. So, two weeks and a hundred plus visitors later, here we are. This book sounds intriguing and I've been waiting to read it for quite some time.
(Came out in 2008)

Primavera by Mary Jane Beaufrand:
In the midst of the Italian Renaissance, two powerful families, the tyrannical Medici and their biggest rivals, the Pazzi, are tangled in a blood struggle for ultimate power. Caught in the whirlwind is Flora, the youngest daughter of the Pazzi family. While her older and more beautiful sister is being painted by the famed artist Botticelli, Flora is dreading her fate.

Destined for life in a convent, Flora defies the life that has been set forth for her and begins a romance with Emilio, a soldier in her father's employ. But as the Pazzi's deal game of intrigue begins to escalate, it is Flora, the youngest and most overlooked, who must inevitably rick her life to save her family.

Inspired by Botticelli's masterpeice, La Primavera, and actual historical events, here is a dazzling coming-of-age story set during a time of beauty and wealth, ambition, rivalry, and passion.

Oooh, this looks pretty good. : )

My favorite book is A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle so I suppose that it is the best book that I've read. I'd have to say that Looking For Alaska by John Green is a close second!

It's a real toughy for me to choose between so many excellent novels! But, I'd have to say that if I were to recommend a book, that it would be The Hunger Games by: Suzanne Collins. Although it has nothing to do with vampires, if you read Twilight and liked it, then you LOVE The Hunger Games!
Suzanne Collins does an excellent job of keeping the story action packed, and the ability to move the story along well. She leaves the reader addicted; wanting more.
In the book, there is this annual televised event where the Capital randomly selects one boy and one girl from each of the twelve districts. The selections, called tributes, are placed against each other in a game of survival and forced to kill until only one remains. The game of survival is called The Hunger Games. The story travels to District 12 where Katniss Everdeen takes her sisters place and is forced to play in the Hunger Games. This novel is thrilling and enticing!
The next book in the series, Catching Fire, is due for September 1, 2009.
Primavera sounds like an magnificent book! I've never read a book set back in the Renaissance Era, or anything like it. It sounds like a novel well worth reading!

I like the title for this one! The fact that it was my first book on zombies would probably make You Are So Undead to Me my favorite book. It is funny, suspenseful, and contains romance so I'd recommend it to anyone! Another good one was the sentimental story of a young korean girl's immigration to the U.S in A Step From Heaven. I don't think I could choose!

I must say that it took me more time to decide on my favorite book than it did to write the entire post :)

My ultimate favorite book is Monster by Frank Peretti, he writes very vividly to where you can get a good picture in your mind and know what is happening. But he also keeps enough away from you to where all of his events slowly build on one another until creating a successful climax. It is then that everything falls into place and your brain is able to catch up with all the events that have taken place. To me, personally, this is good writing. He made my emotions go wild ranging from bouts of laughter to red eyes as my tears spilt over the pages.

Other books that need to at least be mentioned:
Blink of an Eye by Ted Dekker.
Lily's Crossing by Patricia Reilly Giff.
Ashes of Roses by Mary Jane Auch.
